HOW TO REACH THE PARK
BY HIGHWAY
To reach the Park by car we can follow three different directions: Rome-Naples-Pescara.
From Rome we follow the " Rome/Pescara " highway ( A24-A25 ) until the output of
Pescina.
We follow from there S.S. 83 state road, going inside the territory of the Park and bringing us to Pescasseroli (163 km. from Rome).
From Pescasseroli, following the state road S.S.83 we reach all the villages of the High Sangro river (Opi, Villetta Barrea, Civitella Alfedena, Barrea and Alfedena).
Even if coming from Pescara or L'Aquila, it is still advisable to take the highway output of Pescina.
From Naples, by running on the highway of the Sun, there are the following alternatives:
- Leave the highway by the Caianello tollhouse ( 65 km ) and continuing on the S.S. 85 direction Venafro-Isernia-Barrea;
- Leave the highway by the Cassino tollhouse and continue by negotiating the Forca dAcero Pass..
